More signs of marketing and digital change: Kindle e-books outsold paperbacks at Amazon.com in January. And that's just the online sales story.
Have you been to a bookstore like Barnes & Noble or Borders lately? There's lots of speculation that bookstores may go the way of record stores. The Recording Industry Association of America continues to sue against digital change and face the music.

More on the "Death of Newspapers."
I don't subscribe to "The Washington Post." I just walk over and buy the Sunday paper at my local supermarket. Last Sunday there was a surprise wrap-around cover page with the headline "Next weekend: Your Sunday Post gets better."
I read through the full page with illustrations, and also the half page on back, "From the Editor." In short, it looks like they're "delivering" half the Sunday paper to subscribers on Saturday to provide a better weekend. The page was sponsored by a full page ad for Mattress Warehouse's Holiday Sale.
"The Washington Business Journal" reported about "The Washington Post" revamp that closed with stats about the "Post's" ongoing decrease in circulation.

I was writing email feedback yesterday about a goal setting workshop I attended. Specifically, how storytelling was such a strong way to engage and interact with the participants. That reminded me of one of the white papers I wrote: "Case Studies Are like Testimonials on Steroids."* Aha! Maybe they should be called "case stories."
Developing case stories provides us with an opportunity to sit down with our customers and find out how they interact with our brands in their own words, in real life experiences.
I found a a great video of Dana Todd, CMO of Newsforce, in an interview at one of last year's SES (Search Engine Strategies) conferences. In less than five minutes, Dana tells her own story about "How to Revive Storyteller Marketing" in your online and social media efforts.
