Posted August 08, 2011 by Bev Barker | 0 CommentsThe Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce group Women In Business (WIB) is hosting its annual Fall Fashion Preview on Aug. 23 to benefit the Tigerlily Foundation. One way for us members to help promote the event is to attach a PDF file of the flier and send it via email to all our friends/contacts.
But if you really mean business, you can put social media to work for you. Tracie Rosales, co-leader of WIB, has taken that step to the next level - by writing and submitting an article about the event to "Ask Miss A," a website that lets you add a comment to show your support. Then you can announce the event on your Facebook page or LinkedIn Profile page with a link back. So you can help spread the word quickly and easily. (EX: Sign in to LinkedIn, search for Beverly Barker, click on Beverly Barker at Insights Marketing News...and see the fashion show announcement. Feel free to add a comment.)
An in-person (vs. online) way to promote the fashion show is by relating to this year's theme, "It's a Jungle Out There." I found these Liz Claiborne Johnnie Zebra shoes on sale at DSW and wore them to our committee meeting. Definitely a smash hit - and memorable.
